Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Siteryn uses cookies and similar technologies on siteryn.com, what each one does, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

In short: we use only the cookies needed to run our website and shop, plus one referral cookie for our affiliate program that we set only if you agree. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently use analytics cookies.

When you first visit siteryn.com, we ask you to Accept all or Reject all optional cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the website remember things — such as that you are signed in or what is in your cart — between pages and visits. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way, and this policy covers them too.

Cookies set by siteryn.com are “first-party” cookies. Cookies set by another service, such as a payment provider, are “third-party” cookies.

2. Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to work — signing in, keeping your account secure, and remembering your cart and checkout. Because the website cannot function without them, they do not require your consent, but you can still block them in your browser (see section 6).

  • wordpress_logged_in_[hash] — Keeps you signed in to your account. Duration: until you close your browser, or 14 days if you choose “Remember me”.
  • wordpress_sec_[hash] — Secures your signed-in session. Duration: until you close your browser, or 14 days if you choose “Remember me”.
  • wordpress_test_cookie — Checks that your browser accepts cookies so that you can sign in. Duration: until you close your browser.
  • siteryn_cart_key — Remembers your shopping cart and checkout progress, including when you are not signed in. Duration: 30 days.
  • siteryn_cookie_consent — Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. Duration: 90 days.
  • wp-settings-[user ID] and wp-settings-time-[user ID] — Remember dashboard display preferences. Set only for team members who use our WordPress dashboard. Duration: 1 year.

3. Referral cookie (optional)

This cookie is set only if you click Accept all. If you reject optional cookies, it is not set — and if it was set earlier, it is removed.

  • siteryn_affiliate_ref — If you arrive on our website through an affiliate’s link, this cookie records the referral so that the affiliate can be credited if you make a purchase. It does not track you on other websites. Duration: 30 days.

4. Preference cookies

  • comment_author_[hash], comment_author_email_[hash] and comment_author_url_[hash] — If you leave a comment on our blog and tick the box to save your details, these cookies remember your name, email and website for your next comment. Duration: 1 year.

Our chat assistant also stores a reference to your current conversation in your browser’s local storage, so that the conversation continues as you move between pages. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. Conversations themselves are deleted from our systems after 30 days.

5. Third-party services

  • Payment providers — when you pay, Stripe, PayPal or Paddle may set their own cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by each provider’s own cookie and privacy policies.
  • Video tutorials — our videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not store information about you until you play a video. When you play one, YouTube may store cookies or similar data under Google’s privacy policy.

We do not use advertising cookies or social media tracking pixels. If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.

6. How to control cookies

You can view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Each browser explains how in its help pages:

Please note that if you block essential cookies, parts of our website — such as signing in, your cart and checkout — will not work.

To change your choice about optional cookies on our website, open Cookie settings at any time.
